-China and Thailand are one family- singing competition held in Bangkok

On September 14th, KII University in Thailand hosted a choral competition called “One Family, One Heart,” commemorating both the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 49th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. This prominent event was a collaborative effort between the Chinese Alumni Association for Thai Students and KII University.

Nearly 200 singers from seven different choir groups participated, including talented members from Chulalongkorn University, KII University, Rangsit University, and various alumni associations.

The event aimed to foster greater understanding and friendship between the two countries through the unifying medium of music. Ding Peipei, the President of the Chinese Alumni Association for Thai Students, emphasized in her speech that this competition provided a wonderful opportunity for Thai Chinese singing enthusiasts to connect and share insights, acting as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange.

The competition opened with the China Study Youth Choir, who captivated the audience with beloved classics like “The Evening Bell at Nanping” and “The Brightest Star in the Night Sky.” They were followed by the “Angels of Music” choir from KII University, enchanting everyone with performances of “Jasmine Flower” and “Day Lily.” The China Study Alumni Choir also delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Nan Niwan” and “Looking Back Again,” showcasing their strong vocal capabilities and emotional depth that truly resonated with the audience.

Chulalongkorn University’s Chinese Choir won acclaim by performing “The Moon Represents My Heart” and “Wish You Live Long,” impressing attendees with their remarkable musicianship and teamwork, eliciting enthusiastic applause.

After an exciting competition, the Chulalongkorn University Choir took home the first-place trophy, with the KII University Angels of Music Choir securing second place and the China Study Alumni Choir finishing in third.
