On the evening of October 22, 2024, multiple media outlets reported on a potential adjustment in the reading examination format for the Chinese language section of the Beijing college entrance examination. In response to this, the Beijing Education Examination Authority issued a statement clarifying the situation.
“We want to assure the public that the information circulating online is false. The Beijing Education Examination Authority has not announced any changes regarding the reading examination format for the Chinese language section of the college entrance exam,” the statement emphasized.
The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the fundamental task of fostering moral integrity and promoting traditional Chinese culture. Furthermore, it confirmed that the examination content for the Chinese language section in 2025 and 2026 will remain stable and unchanged.
