A U.S. Navy paratrooper landed in the audience during a performance, injuring two people

On October 13, during Fleet Week in San Francisco, an unfortunate incident occurred during a U.S. Navy parachute demonstration. A Navy parachutist misjudged his landing zone and came down in the middle of the crowd, resulting in injuries to a woman and her teenage daughter, who were subsequently taken to the hospital.

Monet Rockymore, an eyewitness at the event, described the scene, saying she saw the injured woman being placed on a stretcher and appeared to have suffered a neck injury.

“I thought the parachutist was going to hit the traffic light and then land on the concrete, so I was relieved when he finally made it to the grass,” Rockymore remarked. “It was frightening, but thankfully, it wasn’t worse.”

The U.S. Navy has stated that they will investigate the incident further.
