On October 17, we caught up with local farmers in Xinan River near Shexian County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, as they were busy harvesting their succulent “Sankou” citrus. During this golden autumn season, thousands of acres of these sweet, plump mandarins are reaching maturity, creating a vibrant scene with branches heavy with fruit.
One farmer shared, “The weather has been perfect for harvesting. We want to make sure we take full advantage of this abundant yield.” The sweet aroma of the ripe mandarins filled the air as the farmers worked diligently under the sun, ensuring a bountiful and successful harvest.
Additionally, we observed an online streamer promoting the “Sankou” mandarins on a live platform on the same day. “These mandarins are not only delicious but represent the hard work of our local farmers,” they remarked, highlighting the connection between traditional agriculture and modern marketing.
As the harvest continues, the community is excited about the prospects of this year’s crop and its potential impact on local livelihoods.
