On October 25, a representative from the University of Science and Technology of China’s Advanced Technology Research Institute shared exciting news about a groundbreaking development by Anhui Huadian Big Data Technology Co., Ltd., a startup incubated by the institution. They have launched a drone quantum security control service platform that leverages quantum security technology to provide robust data protection for the low-altitude economy.
Drones have become pivotal in inspection operations due to their speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. However, the substantial amounts of data collected during these missions—ranging from control instructions to high-definition images and videos—are vulnerable to eavesdropping and tampering, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced data security measures.
Wang Guohang, the General Manager of Anhui Huadian Big Data Technology Co., Ltd., elaborated on the platform’s capabilities. He explained that the drone quantum security control service platform integrates quantum true random key generation, quantum-resistant algorithms, and national commercial encryption standards, effectively merging quantum security technology with drone flight control.
“The platform encrypts and securely stores the data collected by drones using quantum safety technology,” Wang noted. “It employs a quantum cloud service for reliable distribution of quantum keys, along with quantum-resistant algorithms to safeguard data during transmission.” Furthermore, the research team has developed a quantum identity authentication module to manage access rights and ensure that drone operations remain secure and controllable.
Currently, the drone quantum security control service platform is operational, providing essential quantum security protections for various organizations. It has successfully safeguarded over a billion pieces of instruction data and more than 100,000 flight record entries, significantly reducing the risks of data leakage and tampering while enhancing the overall safety of drone systems.
